Discovering Hope ...................................................................................................................
Recently, we asked several families to tell us about their Hope Church experience. Here’s what they had to say...
...................................................................................................................
We began attending Hope and became members during our first year of attendance. We were greatly impressed by the reception and love shown to us on the first day we visited. Immediately, we felt quite at home. Another reason we chose Hope Church was the variety of songs being sung during worship, a mixture that appeals to all ages. Finally, we appreciate the straightforward way the message is presented during the sermon -- even my children are able to listen attentively and understand.

From the very first day I entered Hope Church nearly eight years ago, I felt welcomed and embraced. My Hope journey began with “Wednesday in the Word” women’s Bible study which I attended weekly, although I wasn’t attending Hope on Sundays. The Hope ladies never made me feel like an “outsider,” but immediately connected with me and ushered me into the group. was inspired by the teaching as well as the small group intimacy and continued participating each Wednesday. During this time, our children participated in Hope’s VBS program as well as youth group, even though we were attending other churches in Fairfield County since my husband was a worship leader. Then, my husband made a career change and began teaching music in area schools. This meant the time had come for us to establish a new church home where our family could worship and serve the Lord together.
Our search led us to many area churches. One Sunday morning we were led to visit Hope where we enjoyed solid, thought-provoking teaching, vibrant worship and a body of believers who were genuinely seeking the Lord, serving the community and bearing evident fruit. This, combined with the thriving, dynamic youth program for our teens and my ongoing experience with Wednesday in the Word, was used by the Lord to give us a deep peace about joining the body of Hope.
The foundations for being knit into the community of Hope were built years before our actual arrival on Sundays. We feel this is a unique characteristic of Hope -- welcoming and embracing folks from all backgrounds without any pressure or mandate other than Christ’s love. We also like that Hope is a place where a body resplendent with talent can express its faith through the arts in theater and song through special events and services. Sunday morning Crossroads has ministered to us too as the entire body enjoys intimate fellowship while delving deeper into the Word presented in the sermon. We are grateful to be part of Hope and continue to be in awe of how the Lord is moving here.”

In Boulder, Colorado, we were members of an Evangelical Free Church. When we moved to Ridgefield in 1992, we were looking for a similar kind of church that provided sound biblical teaching, welcomed young families and allowed us to use our gifts to serve in the church. We found all that here at Hope.
The warmth of the welcome when we first came was such a blessing and we were privileged to join a small group shortly afterward where we connected with other members who have become some of our dearest friends. There are ministry opportunities for everyone at every level. This is a great church family. Albert Miyashita of Ridgefield, WEB Strategist
